Comment by Lance McMillan on August 15, 2009 at 9:39am - Tony: Artwork for Dresden20 should pretty much be the same as the rest of the series -- no intention of changing it (Chris McGoun has already done a couple games for us using John Cooper's original style).

I'm trying to decide on a game to pick up for my birthday. I've shortened my list down to the following games and would love some input.
1. Soviet Dawn - played this at GMT West and thought it was very cool.
2. Zulu's on the Ramparts - have always loved the movie Zulu!
3. Caesar XL - thought I could get my girlfriend to play this one with me.
4. Empires in America - this one really intrigues me, how close is it to being available?

Any idea (or hint) what style the Dresden20 art might be?
A different artist than the Napoleon20 series?

- Thanks for the kind words, Tony. I'll try to keep 'em coming. Playtesting on Dresden20 is now essentially "done" (just two very minor points to nail down) and the map and counters have already been turned over to the art department to start getting it ready for production. Next up is Katzbach20.

OK, I guess that makes sense. As long as the unit has the movement points to leave the formation it's in, and enter the formation it want to go to, it seems logical that it should be able to do it.

You can make a single change to any formation, by paying the movement cost. I can know of no rule that states you must be in Movement to Contact, to make the change.

The last rules issue we're debating is the "Formation Change" rule.
The rules say that only one formation change per Game Turn is allowed.
Scott interprets that to mean that a unit can go from Travel to Hasty Assault, for example, as a single form…
I had somebody do Wargames on me in the 'Short Scenario' [latewar/C3i]; so we ended up only playing turns 8&9!
Played a game if Vikings last night, and, although I won, it was a little unsatisfying. The complete, and nearly devastating, randomness of the cards almost undid me. Overall, it was an OK game, although there is some ambiguity in the movement rules…
Really haven't figured out Vassal but I am located in Sacramento CA. Once I get some help on it then I'm in for some gaming.
Anyone else have difficulty finding opponents available for online play (e.g., Vassal) during Pacific Time hours? I know I do. I though a group to help identify people who fit that profile might be useful to others.

DOWNTOWN is such, such a great game. Quite a puzzle for both sides. And I love how the scenarios show the progression of air vs air, air vs ground, and ground vs air technology over the years! ELUSIVE VICTORY looks so good as well!
