Hey Fans of SPI's World War II: European Theater of Operations!
I now have a fully functioning Vassal module in ENGLISH, and all charts/rules in digital documents and I AM looking for players who want to play either real time or by email. Please let me know if you are interested.

Wittmann, can you tell us more about your ETO game? What is the system you are refering to like?

I hhave tried the others. I found 3rd reich to be to much in the rules department and map to simple with bland counters. Wif was just too much of everything. I prefered eto and pto seems to be a good cross etween too much and too little. Though after reding the rules for ewr, I am looking forward to trying it.

I long ago gave up on commercial rules, Theres always something that irks me to the point of making it a experience that is not fun.. I don't want gimmicks, and new ways to display units. I want lots of counters huge maps and clear cut old school charts. I never subscribe to the complexity and unplayability thing, have no qualms or worries about size or play time. I always use spreadsheets and other computer devices to easy play. I am writing up my own set of rules with what I want in them. Getting anybody else to play in the era of CDGs and other new mechanics is not likely but when I do run into the rare kindred spirit I can pull out something we are both looking for and play.

My system in ETO, can span from company level on up, lots of naysayers about that but it works, Factor ratings and CRTs all interchangebale between Air, Sea, land. Cant be done? play and see.

LEt us know how it works out. The map for the cyberboard game looks real good while the one with the ADC2 module looks bad in my opinion.

Dan
I am collaborating with another player to upgrade the rules set and forces to be able to play the 2nd edition on the Cyberboard map (the Japanese one).

Dan, you have to purchase the ADC2 program from HPS Simulations for about $50.00. Then, at least for DG stuff, you have to purchsae the game set from DG. The ETO set is $25. Its on the DG site. ADC2 is not being supported by HPS anymore if I am correct so it may be a dying program.

Don't you need to purchase both ADC2 and the ETO module separately? Is it worth it? Can you play ETO second edition on this?

I haven't played ETO, but I've good things about it. Our group have been playing World in Flames for 15 years on and off, and we find it to be a fun game. The trick with WiF though is to play as close to the classic edition as you can, and choose only the bare minimum of options.

However my favourite game of all time is EastFront II, and I am very keen to play Eurofront II. I just love the fog of war provided by the blocks, and I spend more time thinking about strategy, rather than having physically manage stacks of cardboard counters to get that last factor for a 5:1 attack...

You can get the ETO ADC2 set from DG, although it does cost about $25.00. The 1st edition from TSR is available for nothing for cyberboard although I don't have the rules for that version. I am currently playing the 2nd edition from TSR with a buddy. The map is kinda ugly though in the ADC2 version.

No they're not, not Super Bowl winners. Some members of the defense need a major attitude adjustment too, especially about standards and excuses.

They are really a not very good team this year.

The Steelers used an onside kick today, and almost snatched defeat from the jaws of mediocrity too. It's a big reason why Roethlisberger could throw for 500 yards and still need the last play of the game to win, by one point.

Hold the line by Worthington games. A GREAT simple revolutionary war game, similar to Command and Colors, but uses Action Points instead of cards. You can move any unit you want with your points. (Similar to Conflict of heroes)
