Hold the line by Worthington games. A GREAT simple revolutionary war game, similar to Command and Colors, but uses Action Points instead of cards. You can move any unit you want with your points. (Similar to Conflict of heroes)

Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
Risk, Axis and Allies years ago, most recently Panzergruppe Guderian, GMT's Guilford, Conquest of Paradise, and Fire in the Skies.
Your favorite game(s):
Cosmic Encounter, Dune (both designed by my Uncle Peter but that's not why they are my favorites...good times!!)
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
Nemo's War! by Victory Point Games and Command's & Colors Ancients
What game(s) have you played recently?
Axis and Allies, Fire in the Skies, Conquest of Paradise, Nemo's War!, Lion of Ethiopia and Commands & Colors Ancients.
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
I had spent more time reading about games, collecting and selling, and now designing them, than I had actually playing them until I recently found a group to play with. We now get together about twice a month.
How big is your game collection?
It was up to around 150, but I've parred that down to about 50 at the moment since most of them weren't looking to be getting any play time any time soon.
Your local game club(s) and/or where you reside (let's network!)
St. Petersburg, FL.
About Me
In my spare time, when I'm not walking the dogs, or working in my shop, or at the trap and skeet range, I'm a board game design hack, hoping to one day fumble together a design worthy of being published. Currently alpha testing my latest brainstorm Westward Expansion.

Currenly working on my first board game design, Westward Expansion. An exploration game of North America set in 1803-1806, which will include the expeditions of Lewis and Clark, Zebulon Pike and Wilkinson, Hunter and Dunbar, Freeman and Custis, and perhaps the Spanish Military as playable factions. The game uses tile placement and is somewhat card driven. Think of a mix between Source of the Nile, GMT's Conquest of Paradise and GMT's Blackbeard.

Tim Allen created the map below. What can I say, the man is a genius!!

Alpha testing in progress

Alpha testing still in progress, but I found a few things off the bat that I am currently addressing. The terrain tiles didn't work as I had hoped, and the game was way too long. I'm making the tiles larger, and I'm going to allow tile stacking. The first tile placed on any hex will always be the terrain in that hex for movement, but a second player may stack another tile on top for the river portion of the tile, since it is necessary to be able to have 2 different rivers going through the same… Continue

Revisions for Westward Expansion

Made excellent headway today. Rules are pretty solid now and ready to go. Updated discovery cards, completed all but one chart, and just need to finish up those couple new event cards. Most if not all of which should be finished tomorrow. Should definitely be starting the alpha play-testing by the weekend, if not sooner!!

Back to work

Finally got time to work on Westward Expansion this weekend. I was able to create the Battle Chart for battling Natives, still need to create one more for Battling the Spanish Military. Assigned goals and objectives for each of the expeditions (including the Spanish Military, so yes they will be a playable faction). I had an inspiration for a few more event cards which will be created this week. I also updated the starting locations for each expedition to correspond to their historic starting po… Continue

Delete Comment It's been some time since anything has been posted about this game, as I've been wrestling with finding a satisfying battle mechanic. Although no battles took place historically (only one minor skirmish) there was certainly the possibility of battles happening at any moment, so I wanted to include that possibility in the game. I think I have settled on a solution that I am happy with, will add to the game and not be to… Continue
