Do you have the Air Power and the Naval Power equivalent?
on Monday
I think I can relate to that very well. I buy but I don't play much.
November 4
Yes, I have. Strangely enough, I picked up a pristine copy of 'Land Power' at a second hand shop some years back. It was wonderful! And it had John Batchelor illustrating!
November 3
'The Greatest Show on Earth' by Richard Dawkins.
November 1
Read "Pebble in the Sky" by Isaac Asimov. SciFi. My favorite book to read every few years. Always a great read. "The Empire of Manuel I Komnenos 1143-1180. Good but only for those interested in Byzantine History and Culture.

My mom's reading that one now. I might read it a little down the road - Dan Brown can be good escapist fun for a couple of days. On the "to read" list are a big pile of Ospreys, Chandler's The Campaigns of Napoleon, Pride and Prejudice and Zombie...

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown.....not a complete waste of time, but close. Liked Di Vinci Code and Angels & Demons better. But essentially, all 3 are the same book.

Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
I am a relatively latecomer to this lobby. I started 'wargaming' in the late seventies with the Usborne Battle Books. I remembered re-fighting the Battle of Arsuf over and over again with my little sister. Later, I found SPI's 'Napoleon' in 1982 and Squad Leader in 1983-4. I played Avalon Hill's 'Alexander the Great' and a couple of others from 1985. Afterwards, I was lost in the RPG wilderness and collectible card hell for years. I eventually returned to wargaming in the mid-nineties. These days, I am just not very active.
Your favorite game(s):
I haven't played enough to name a favourite.
What game(s) have you played recently?
Nothing. I haven't played in a year or two.
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
Very little unfortunately.
How big is your game collection?
I think it is about a hundred items or so now.
Your local game club(s) and/or where you reside (let's network!)

Regarding your comment upon my Berlin Central Station photo: Yes, bicycles and cyling are quite popular in Germany, especially in university cities where lots of students and young people live. The bikeways are great and cyclists enjoy some privileges such as the permission to enter one-way streets from the wrong direction. Some cities even offer "bicycle streets" where bikes always have the right of way. In addition, mountain and race biking are extremely popular sports. Last but not least, more and more people commute by bike / train since the gasoline prices reached new heights this year.

On Monday night Tehran and Konark fell - a good turn for the Reds. Having Konark is especially sweet as I've got two airbases to fly in and I'll put 3 MIG 23's on intercept on one base and two MIG 23's and a Backfire on offensive on the other. The...

You'v got OPERATION BARBAROSSA published by Matrix. It is inspired by Panzer General. It is a turn based, Hex based, simple, attractive and challenging enough for a beginner. I think it is a good start. I have the game, played it and liked it. Koo...

Robert, if you're talking about AAR's (after action reports), I'm sure boardgamegeek has some. Go to www.boardgamegeek.com and on their main window, just type in the game you're interested in. They'll then show you different game covers if there a...
