Thank you for TourDeForce blog. WIE is my all time favorite boardgame. You have convinced me that computer WIE will be my next software purchase.

Oh, mine came with the felt (must have one of the first ones cause I did not have the option). The felt base works for me and I have generally used it on a wood table.

The C4 cutter has either a foam base or a felt base, according to the website. Just wondered which type people preferred, since I've never used the C4 myself.

foam or felt base what?

About Me
I am a dad, a computer software engineer, a husband, a war gamer and a very amateur military historian.
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
We love books in our house. I have around 100 to 200 history books and computer technology books. My wife has a further 200 to 400 books of varying type. I enjoy watching good movies, playing war games, and trying to learn my sons in the art of board war gaming. Music wise I like all things from Johnny Cash to Black Sabbath, Yes to Slayer and Rush to Frank Zappa (and Mozart as well). I like a good scotch here and there and war gaming, reading about war games and design and military history.

Tour de Force

Since Computer War in Europe Two (CWIE-2 or CWIE-II) is due out in a very short time I thought I would give a Tour de force.

I have been part of the play-testing team for the last two years and thought it might be a good time to share some images, screen play and insight into the game.

CWIE-2 in my opinion is a very excellently designed game. We tried to incorporate as much as the original SPI game as well as the most current DG version. We also added a lot of options so that you… Continue

C4 Cutter!

Well after many years of the same normal routine of using my X-acto knife to slice out the counter sheets and then using a finger nail clipper to clip the corners of a thousand edges, when I first saw the C4 I was amazed and then I bought it.

My life is forever changed! Okay, joking aside this tool is totally awesome and radical. It only costs 19.95 (or about 23.00 with shipping) and Dave ships it super fast. It's small and lightweight and it clips the corners off of counters at lightning speed… Continue

Don, if you ever get over to the "D" let me know and we might be able to get in an ASL game. We have a group that meets at my house every Thursday night.

Hi Don, been a while. not with Motorola any more. Something totally different, I'm ER receptionist at McHenry Hospita (just started and still learning). Now have a 4 1/2 year old son, Gareth. Got CWIE2 so was thinking of you.

I ordered two copies of CWiE-II and look forward to many hours of play, though I'll never have time to get through an entire 1939 campaign. Thanks again for your Tour de Force blog entry.

Don, If you saw the pictures, the Helm's Deep game had 4 kids playing 3 adults. The youngest was a girl, 9 years old. Some of the rules sets are more easily grasped by younger kids than others. Maybe during the summer, a game would be a possibility.

Hi Don, Are you a north or south sider? I'm near Midway Airport (O'Hare Lite). If you're ever interested in a miniatures game, I can do nearly anything. Have game, will travel. Only caveat is I'm very busy during the school year!

No they're not, not Super Bowl winners. Some members of the defense need a major attitude adjustment too, especially about standards and excuses.

They are really a not very good team this year.

The Steelers used an onside kick today, and almost snatched defeat from the jaws of mediocrity too. It's a big reason why Roethlisberger could throw for 500 yards and still need the last play of the game to win, by one point.

Hold the line by Worthington games. A GREAT simple revolutionary war game, similar to Command and Colors, but uses Action Points instead of cards. You can move any unit you want with your points. (Similar to Conflict of heroes)
