I'm right there with you Eric. Sad part is that I had the big plans for playing all my games and reading all my books "after the Army." Well, here I am and it's only gotten progresively worse. And I find myself repeating the mantra, but have replace…

About Me
Single dad with an eleven-year-old daughter. Retired US Army. Worked for the local schools for five years and then bailed after 9/11...Couldn't stand to be on the sidelines. Now I'm with Federal Law Enforcement.
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
Cycle and hike. Obviously play games when I can. Most of my reading is professional these days (dull!), but I break out once in a while and get to read something fun. Just discovered some new music interests: The Black Angels, The Shins, and Death Cab for Cutie. Otherwise it's mostly 60's and 70's rock and contemporary jazz/fusion. Most of my movies these days are G or PG fare that's acceptable for my daughter, though I've introduced her to the stage (Phantom of the Opera) and now she's hooked so we've been watching a lot of musicals lately (to supplement our usual bevy of romantic comedies and animated features).
Woo-hoo! Just completed my registration! I'm gonna make it back for the first time since the first Expo! And I'm dragging along several first-timers (and my daughter) with me. See y'all there in May!
He's flying out on Alaks Tuesday - he's babysitting a goofy ass civilian out there. His oestinable boss though Smitty runs the show. Dupont - the little town he said that was created there?

Well Joe, I did leave Kansas (Ft Riley) - went to Iraq - and then came back (Ft Leavenworth) for good. I'm retiring next fall, I'll take my uniform off in July probably.
GREAT To hear you plan to come back to the Expo. Eric probably won't, he's an O6 now, and fully engaged with his duties. He ususally escapes to the 3 day cons on the east coast, but not the Expo. I've been gaming with mark Hinkle and an old friend of mine Will Riley the last couple of years. My friend Will found me on consimworld after we had not seen/spoken since I left for the Army - it's been good to reunite.

THG...How do you know Tom and Eric? I met them at USFK
Welcome aboard, Joe. Join a whole bunch of us who are gamers getting back into the hobby after time away. Let me know how you like Conflict of Heroes. I read a bunch about the game, downloaded the rules, then took the plunge and ordered a copy which came yesterday. I'm looking forward to trying the first firefight over the next few days--always wondered what it would be like to fight the Germans/Russians after gorging on turkey...

Looks like you like the monster games! You should give the gamer's OCS a try...Which of the RSS do you like the most?
Glad to see you here and that you hooked up with Smitty. I caught up with the short version over on smitty's page. Looking forward to gaming together again sometime in the future.
Sounds like you are liking Fed law enforcement, which is goodness.
