I have the 1975 edition of Joy of Cooking, and it's old school, taking one from boiling water to complex recipes. In the 1997 edition, they "dumbed it down" because they didn't think modern cooks would take the time and care of previous generations.…

Summer Bakin'

Even if you are not much of a baker I encourage you to make this pie. It will be the best one you have ever tasted. It is from the 1950 edition Betty Crocker cookbook.

Oh somebody PLEASE bury MJ, ok??

Ok Consm folks out there: Who else is tired of hearing about Michael Jackson besides Jim Werbaneth and me? Was he talented? Yes. Was he on par with the greats in the music industry? No. He liked to be in the company of young boys and he should have been prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law regarding the child molestation cases. I just hope to hell no one tries to nominate this freak for sainthood.

I would probably freeze to death - literally! (I don't have a thyroid, so I don't generate much body heat with a low metabolic rate.) My Mom has been and said it was wonderful. I just get to look at the pictures...

Not sure how I added the music. It's been a while since I put that widget there, and once you have the widget, you can add songs whenever you want.

OK, I guess that makes sense. As long as the unit has the movement points to leave the formation it's in, and enter the formation it want to go to, it seems logical that it should be able to do it. I was thinking that going from "Deliberate Assault…

You can make a single change to any formation, by paying the movement cost. I can know of no rule that states you must be in Movement to Contact, to make the change. David

The last rules issue we're debating is the "Formation Change" rule. The rules say that only one formation change per Game Turn is allowed. Scott interprets that to mean that a unit can go from Travel to Hasty Assault, for example, as a single form…

I had somebody do Wargames on me in the 'Short Scenario' [latewar/C3i]; so we ended up only playing turns 8&9!

Played a game if Vikings last night, and, although I won, it was a little unsatisfying. The complete, and nearly devastating, randomness of the cards almost undid me. Overall, it was an OK game, although there is some ambiguity in the movement rules…

Anyone else have difficulty finding opponents available for online play (e.g., Vassal) during Pacific Time hours? I know I do. I though a group to help identify people who fit that profile might be useful to others.

DOWNTOWN is such, such a great game. Quite a puzzle for both sides. And I love how the scenarios show the progression of air vs air, air vs ground, and ground vs air technology over the years! ELUSIVE VICTORY looks so good as well!
