Did GMT or C3I ever print a new, more readable set of counters for Silver Bayonet? I took the game off the shelf last week ... opened it up .... and as soon as I squinted at the counters trying to read them I instantly remembered why it has been on…
For those who loved it when GDW came on the scene with their East Front game DNO .And then all those other games on subjects and campaigns/battles SPI & AH weren't touching.
I had the usual MB/Parker Bros. games as a kid-Battlecry,1863,PT109 etc. When I was 13 I saw in our local J.C. Penny store AH's Waterloo & Gettysburg so these were my first true wargames. Stalingrad , Africa Korps,Battle of the Bulge soon followed.I then discovered these wonderful wargames at the Hallmark book/gift store that were in these flat plastic trays-the good ol' SPI games!. Thats when my gaming and collecting really took off. So with this I was able to be a gamer in the Golden Age/Back in the Day era for the hobby( 1970's) Haven't look back since.
Your favorite game(s):
My favorite games are OSG/CoA Napoleon at Leipzig and NES Dresden & Napoleon on the Danube and Decision games S&T's Clash of Eagles on Borodino & Friedland. after that any of the old SPI quads and Conflict Co. games. I guess any of the old SPI,GDW,AH or Rand games from the old days are up in the ranks and the ones I play the most. I should add in the new Napoleonic20 series from Victory Point Games,well all the games from VPG are now in the list. and also all the GMT games.
Come to think of it, any good game that perks my interest is on my favorite list.Any GMT game is right at the top.

OK, I guess that makes sense. As long as the unit has the movement points to leave the formation it's in, and enter the formation it want to go to, it seems logical that it should be able to do it.
I was thinking that going from "Deliberate Assault…
You can make a single change to any formation, by paying the movement cost. I can know of no rule that states you must be in Movement to Contact, to make the change.

The last rules issue we're debating is the "Formation Change" rule.
The rules say that only one formation change per Game Turn is allowed.
Scott interprets that to mean that a unit can go from Travel to Hasty Assault, for example, as a single form…
Played a game if Vikings last night, and, although I won, it was a little unsatisfying. The complete, and nearly devastating, randomness of the cards almost undid me. Overall, it was an OK game, although there is some ambiguity in the movement rules…
Anyone else have difficulty finding opponents available for online play (e.g., Vassal) during Pacific Time hours? I know I do. I though a group to help identify people who fit that profile might be useful to others.
What a coincidence, I'm also rereading Panzer Leader while I'm waiting for Glantzs newest book to arrive (its been shipped) part 2 of the Stalingrad trilogy..
DOWNTOWN is such, such a great game. Quite a puzzle for both sides. And I love how the scenarios show the progression of air vs air, air vs ground, and ground vs air technology over the years! ELUSIVE VICTORY looks so good as well!
