Thanks! There are advantages to spending a lot of years spinning vinyl, and then CD's.

Mike - unfortunately no one showed up. I stayed till 11:15am and with no shows - I locked up an dleft. It was at that time that one player from Fayetteville, Ga. came by but we had missed each other.

Will try again in May.

Hey Mike, good to see you out here! I agree, it would be good to get something going. Give me a call sometime or drop me an email and we can discuss our options!

Catch you later

Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
I bought a copy of Luftwaffe when I was in the 8th grade. My friend and I feverishly punched the counters, set the game up and attempted to play. We didn't get very far but I really liked it. Years later in High school, my brother and I wore out his copy of AH's Bismarck. I still have it today next to my pristine, unpunched copy.
Your favorite game(s):
AH Bismarck, 3W Sink the Bismarck, World at War Eisenbach Gap, James Bond Assault, Assault on Hoth, Avalanche Press Bismarck
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
Table is open currently. A travesty, I know
What game(s) have you played recently?
World at War Eisenbach Gap.
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
Not enough
How big is your game collection?
I'm arounf 50 or so games and it comes and goes as I trade and sell and buy
Your local game club(s) and/or where you reside (let's network!)
Woodstock, GA, Metro Atlanta
About Me
I'm a composer working as a Flash Developer to make a living until I can turn the switch and work as a full time musician. I'm also dabbling a bit in game design working on a couple of solitaire games. BTW-- The three songs listed on the page are mine.
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
Big College Football fan. Go Tennessee!
Hockey Fan. Watch and Play
Big Movie Fan. Will see most anything but I do draw the limit at those sappy mother daughter movies I can no way relate to.
Avid reader of History, SPy Thrillers, Techno Thrillers and most anything that involves submarines.
Music is all over the map. Send me a message and I can elaborate.
I also enjoy building plastic models when time allows.

When Good Game Stores Go Good: Endgame - origianlly written 7/2/08

Well, the game store I blogged about in a previous post has closed its doors after 15 years of serving Atlanta. I wonder if it is the current state of the economy or the fact that when they moved locations they lost clientèle. I'm not sure. I'm sure I'll run into a gaming bud at some point that can offer some insight. My guess is the price of a gallon of gas and disposable income to spend on games are inversely proportional to each other.

I quit going after visiting the new location. It was har… Continue

When Good Game Stores Go Good - originally written 3/16/06

I don't know what it is, but part of the appeal of going into a game store is going somewhere that's kind of a not a bad place to be but not a real nice one either.

My local game store (I say local when it was a good 40 minute drive with no traffic) moved from the location where I first discovered it. It used to be in this run down strip mall next to a Piggly Wiggly or Save Rite or some other kind of discount grocery store. It actually didn’t look like the safest place to be after dark either.… Continue

Re: Troop Quality - I've reversed my position on the issue of whether or not support units affect "troop quality". We are now also playing that any unit with a parenthesized defense strength does NOT factor in to the troop quality calculation. As ...

This is a cdg based on the game Twilight Struggle. It also has a battlecard system similar to We the People. It's a free game that you can download here: http://social.consimworld.com/profiles/blogs/final-1989-rules-cards-and-map

My guess is that 34R1 overrides the parent section 33L4. 34R1 states "A friendly naval unit may attempt to detect any enemy naval unit that is within its Surface (or Sub-Surface, for submarines) Detection Range. The player announces the detection ...
