Won't make it myself, drat the luck--two+ week work trip overseas, not returning home until seven hours into the start of the con (and 21 some hours after leaving my location, I expect I'd have trouble with tic-tac-toe!).
No, she definitely said the game was cute. Now, if I had one of meeplepeople.com's Advanced Squad Meeples I could understand the cute comment, but the game itself?
Hmm... looking at the picture of the board at the top of this group I guess it is ...
I was playing my first ever ASL game (ASLSK #1, first scenario) with my boss on Friday. It was over lunch, and we were sitting at our office's creaky ol' conference/lunch/junk table starting at the board when two women on our team got back from th...
Couple of new solitaire titles just in. There's "Where There Is Discord: War in the South Atlantic", a game on Falklands/Malvinas '82 by Daniel Hodges. Very surprising for a self-published game, it's got Euro-like production values--right up there...
I've seen posts on BGG that at least one fellow saw his card was changed, and believes that by AG policy this means it is shipping (he was early on the pre-order list).
Scott, are you going to Spring Recruits? I missed SM as we are at Ft Hood.
Looking forward to seeing you at MM

CoH is a great game..but Am looking forward to march madness to get my ASLSK on.....
Went to Spring Maneuvers in Lawrence, KS yesterday (only made the morning session--was feeling a bit rocky in the afternoon/evening). Played in a game of DVG's Modern Naval Battles--think we messed up some rules, but had a good time. Watched in amazement as the Soviets/Russians delivered a massive Backfire strike on the American fleet (I was Taiwan, hoping they wouldn't notice me!) in the first Russian turn, wiping out all but one ship. (Needless to say, the Russkies won the game, more than tripling my score).
Next is a one-on-one Saturday playing through as many of the rest of the Conflict of Heroes firefights as we can get through, then hopefully a beginner's game of ASKSK at March Madness in KC.
I had access to this social site up until a week ago, then lost it. Figure some overachiever killed access.
Dan Best and I have copies of the rule book and SK's, so before you go ordering and paying shipping etc. Check with us and maybe we'll have it at a price you like. I try to keep ASLSK's on hand for newcomers since MMP can't seem to keep them in stock.
Seeing Panzer Blitz in a "men's gifts" section at a department store and thinking it was full of little tanks it was so heavy, and then finally getting either Ogre or StarForce Alpha Centauri (can't remember which I got first)
