I am using Zoner Draw. It's vector software similar to Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw, but it is much less expensive (only $50). It doesn't have nearly the same number of bells and whistles, but I feel it's more than enough. There are even free o...

GMT to redo MBT?

Is it true? GMT may be publishing a remake of MBT?
From a Gene Billingsley post in the GMT Games folder:
"Yes, we're working with Jim Day to get updated and streamlined versions of several of his armor games ready for P500. We want to continue to broaden our game offerings, and tactical armor engagements is an area where we have had nothing to offer in the past. Jim's games will help us there. Games aside, Jim Day is definitely the kind of guy we really like to work with: talented, friendly, tea… Continue

Game Collection Storage: Stacked or Bookshelf Style?

How do you store your Games?

Do you just stack them on each other?
-How do you prevent damage?

Do you store them like books on a shelf?
-How do you keep the contents from spilling out of the tray insert?

You should see some of the things I've been teaching lately. I assigned two classes to actually read the Constitution. Some elements of academia probably think I'm a damned disgrace to the profession.

I drove around Bloomfield/ShadySide earlier this evening to get a good look at them.
They are basically a bunch of college kids acting out what their lib professors teach in class.
Watching a web cam of the crap going on near Pitt right now, it's nothing different then the celbration after the Superbowl.

One thing that kills me is how people treat the anarchist movement as though it's either mainstream, or should be mainstream. I've also talked to some over the past couple of weeks, and they say "I'm an anarchist" with the same lack of irony that one would take to the statement "I am a member of the Kiwanis" or "I am a Freemason."

I'm not sure which part of the word "fringe" people can't comprehend.

They got their ass kicked, no doubt about that.
Plus, they tried to raise hell in a city that just lost 3 Police Officers a few months ago, so there was no sympathy from citizens or Police today.

It's not the video, just the most recent song I uploaded. Roads to Moscow used to be played occasionally on WDVE in the seventies. I bought the vinyl album at Heads Together in 1978, back when I was thin, had all my hair, and BONG had nothing to do with the sound a bell makes.

Thanks for sharing the link, Tony. I really enjoyed the article. I did play Statis-Pro baseball when it came out, but honestly, don't remember it that well except that I remember an awful lot of card flipping. Strat-o-Matic to me is still the best. As I mentioned, I didn't get much into football except for the Foto Electric game (below) I played as a kid which was hardly stat-driven (it wasn't based on actual teams), but a lot of fun.

Tony, here's my all time favorite which I just shared with Smitty:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/14163

We used to play the absolute crap out of this game, and it was perfect for solitaire. I'll be interested to see if the article you quoted discusses this game. We also used to play that one game with the vibrating metal field, where you'd set little miniature players up and they'd run the hell all over the place except straight ahead!

I don't see any advantage to hex-shaped counters and a lot of disadvantages. The only problem with square counters is when the hexes are too small.
