Actually I've been back into board/wargaming for a couple of years now, and really have enjoyed the hobby! I've been thinking about a few things lately so here are my rambling thoughts.
1. I really like game settings besides the Bulge or Stalingrad. To me it seems like people are way too focused on these battles. Like 15 of the top twenty war games on BGG seem to be about these battles. Jeez...

I don't know why - but now I'd really like to see a LNL module based on this - I know it won't sell but would be "pure" infantry combat. Maybe I'm crazy but I find it interesting. Maybe even other "brush" wars of the Cold War. I've been thinking of it a lot lately.
I know some folks find it tasteless - but I'm interested to know what really happened, and I think the men and women who fought and died on both sides need to have the world remember.
Am I wrong?

I had a FTF session after a long drought a few weeks ago (got in a couple games of Eisenbach Gap and started Hold The Line). And all I can say is WOW is it fun. What a great hobby...

I tried to play a bunch of games - but now that I'm back into war games (and other table top gaming) I just can't play computer games.
I work on a PC all day at work, and lately it seems all I want to do is to read and if I get a chance - look at or play with my board games.
WOW... At least now I can save money. Insttad of a new PC every year it can go to games....

I see a lot of specific groups but none seem very active.
And what would the limits be - is Tide Of Iron a wargame, is the old Fuedal a war game? do mini's count?
We could leverage the infrastrcuture of CSW social (I think it is easier to navigate than the forums). Or is the social networking on individuals the way to go?

I have cats, I love animals but we own cats cause we like cats and they are low maintenence - I have a high stress job so nice not to have to worry about them (no need to walk them!)
But I really like them and get a kick out of their ways, One thing I've noticed is how many war gamers (who are generally male a stereotype but hey its's true) have and like cats.
So why is that? Even my wife seemed to notice a lot of wargamers like cats - so whats up with that???

I just received the second installment of the World At War seires that began with Eisenbach Gap. Now its always a big day when I get a new game now that I'm back into the hobby. But this was different there's something special about this day. What is different about this game?

As most of my friends know I'm a huge Mark H. Walker and LNL company fan. I love his Cold War games and I think modeling Vietnam for infantry combat is fascinating. He is also an advocate of electronic publishing - which is the future of publishing. Instead of trying to put a full game into his magazine he puts maps and counters ready for print into his documents. I think this is fantastic. I can reprint components any time and take the documents with me on the road on my laptop...

1. This is an outstanding system - but as Mark says its focus is infantry, and really is based on modern smokeless powder fire arms with magazines. I would say the earliest period we could model would be Spanish-American war.
Lets be honest the difference between a Moisin-Nagant and an M-16 is negligble compared to the difference between an M1 and a rifled musket.
2. Modules I would be interested in (in order of preference)
Red Dawn - US irregulars versus Soviet and Cuban troops (early 1980's)…

Here is some thoughts on war games - and what I like and don't like. Think of it as my Theses... Remember these are my thoughts and not everyone's... Please make suggestions!
Art is as important as the rules, there is simply no excuse for a professionally published game to have poor artwork.
Today’s war game publishers are not yesterday’s publishers. BE PATIENT! These people have day jobs. They might not be able to respond to questions for days and sometimes weeks.
